About Acumen Appraisals
Acumen Appraisals is a Twin Cities based residential real estate appraisal firm established by Jason Nederhoff in 2006.
As an independent appraiser and business owner, I manage all aspects of the business operations and appraisal process. I work with individual property owners as well as lending institutions. I cover the seven-county metro area and provide real estate valuation on all residential property types and styles.
As a real estate professional, I have over 24 years of experience, obtaining my appraisal license in 1998 and becoming certified upon completion of my mentorship and required practicing hours in 2000. I became Federal Housing Administration (FHA) approved shortly thereafter. In addition to my appraisal license, I held my real estate sales license for several years. While I did enjoy helping people buy and/or sell their homes, I found that doing the research and solving the problem of determining the value of properties was my greatest interest. As a result, appraising has been my sole focus for the past decade.
I pride myself in the quality of my work, due diligence, and customer service. This means I take the time to do the deep dive necessary on the research required to figure out every aspect that impacts the valuation of any given property. I also take the time to make sure the client fully understands the “how and why” of the final value of the property.
